Permissions, side by side
Every Android app publishes the permissions it requests. The table on our homepage sets out how TVLaunch compares on advertising identifiers, app enumeration, phone state and device accounts.
The short version: TVLaunch requests no advertising ID, does not enumerate the apps on your device, and does not read phone state or device accounts. Several alternatives declare all four.
Based on publicly declared Android manifest permissions, checked 2026-07-10. A declared permission means an app may request that data — we make no claim about what any competitor does with it. We simply don't ask for it.
Commercial terms
- Contract length. TVLaunch is month to month with no minimum. Hotel-oriented platforms typically want an annual per-room commitment.
- Billing currency. We bill South African customers in Rand. Dollar or Euro billing exposes you to exchange-rate movement on a fixed monthly cost.
- Idle rooms. We charge only for TVs that are actually online. Per-room licensing charges for a room whether or not it is in service.
- Hardware. We run on standard Android TV boxes. Several competitors require their own hardware or an installer visit.
Where we are the weaker choice
If you run a large hotel that needs PMS integration, in-room ordering, or a full guest-services portal, an enterprise platform will serve you better than we do today — those are not features we offer.
TVLaunch is built for properties from one Airbnb unit to a mid-sized guesthouse, where the operator is the owner rather than an IT department.
